I took biking for granted until I was a physical education teacher in Fayetteville, Arkansas and was lucky enough to teach at a school with a class set of mountain bikes. I quickly realized how many 5th and 6th grade students couldn't ride a bike. Over the course of two years, I fine tuned the methods that I now use to teach people of all ages. These methods resulted in a 100% success rate and over 30 kids learning how to ride a bike for the first time. Seeing the joy it brought to the students was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. 

 

My family relocated to Saint Louis during the Summer of 2016 as my wife took a job at a local university. We love the parks throughout the Saint Louis area and I wanted to teach our kids how to ride as soon as possible. Using the same methods I had with middle school students, I was able to teach our oldest daughter how to ride when she was 5 and our youngest daughter when she was 4. 

 

Neighbors and friends started to inquire how I taught the kids at such an early age and BK Bike School was informally started. At the urging of my wife, she encouraged me to formally start BK Bike School in January 2021. We have now expanded to multiple locations throughout Missouri and are in the process of expanding to other states.
